Relief, 2010
self portrait, within a period of about five seconds
polyurethane, white patina
60 x 40 x 8 cm
The relief is realized using cinematography and 3D-scanning techniques to transcend the limits of two-dimensional representation of objects and to create forms that enable new perspectives of the ephemerality of moments in a traditional manifestation. The realization process undergoes an estrangement of the immediacy of sculptural work through the usage of CNC milling. The result is a translation of temporality and unseen forms in a algorithm designed relief from polyurethane.
